Built for hands-on builders, the DIY Hexagon Oil Tank Kit from The Layoff Shop is designed for custom chopper and motorcycle projects where fabrication is part of the process. This kit gives you everything you need to build your own oil tank from scratch — and show off your welds while doing it.
Cut from mild steel, this hex-shaped oil tank kit includes all flat panels needed to fabricate the tank yourself. It’s ideal for custom motorcycle builders, home fabricators, and anyone looking to practice TIG welding while creating a functional, clean-looking oil tank.
Included in the kit is a weld-in 1.5” filler neck with a threaded brass cap, along with three 1/4” NPT fittings for return, vent, and feed. Two steel tubes are also included for the return and vent lines. Designed to save you money while giving you full control over fitment, finish, and final layout.
This kit is meant to be welded, customized, and finished by the builder, making it perfect for chopper builds, garage projects, and weld practice with a real end result.
